Phyllis Diller Passes Away at 95

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MelissaF was invited to an art show at Phyllis Diller's home about five years ago, as a friend of Diller's former personal assistant. She an her husband paid about $1,500 for all four of these paintings.
    - rachel8, CNN iReport producer

Comedian and artist Phyllis Diller passes away at 95. An artist you might say?

Yes, an artist. I was surprised too by this news. I was invited to her home for an art show some 5 years ago.

I have four artworks from her (as shown above). The first one on the left Diller named "Melissa" and I guess that's why my husband bought it since it is my name. The one in the middle is called "Prudence Prenup" and the one on the right is called "Marriage."

The fourth one (on the second tab) is a poem she wrote accented with watercolors named "My Prayer."

    It says:

    "On this happy day
    I am thankful
    For my blessings
    And I pray
    For renewed belief
    In myself
    And others
    And hope
    This bond of love
    Will expand
    To envelop
    The entire
    Universe"
    ~Phyllis Diller

Thank you Phyllis Diller for all the laughs!
    May you rest in peace.
