ROMNEY RYAN PICK -- VULTURES OF A FEATHER GOUGE TOGETHER
Seniors should be very concerned; the upcoming November Presidential elections could spell complete disaster for their well-being and health care if the Romney/Ryan ticket gets elected to the presidency of this great country. It is obvious that seniors can't trust Mitt Romney who continues to lie, and to hide his tax returns amongst other things, like the details of his record as Governor of Massachusetts (unemployment, taxation and decent health care). He has no intention of releasing any of his tax returns before the incomplete 2010 return and estimated one for 2011, despite the fact that 63% of the American people wants him to release more.
To make things even worse, I am still scratching my head, wondering what gave Romney and his people the notion that Paul Ryan would be a great addition to the ticket? Romney and his campaign did just that nominated Paul Ryan for VP … now Paul Ryan is not looking so squeaky clean. Romney made it worse by impulsively picking a guy who could be his extra son, rich and right wing.
The Romney campaign must have known that Congressman Ryan carts more baggage that the conveyors belts at JFK… The Ryan ‘plan’ is toxic for many reasons, but especially because of the deliberate, and transparent attack on Medicare. The “Ryan Plan” slashes Medicare, while cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans, at the expense of the middle class, and seniors. It is a horrifying, and disgusting, betrayal on seniors who depend on Medicare to maintain good health.
Paul Ryan claims that his budget-busting plan will not affect Seniors for ten years, but what Romney and Ryan are not revealing is that if they get elected, they can and will change to shorten the so-called ten years hands off Medicare “promise”, as well as anything else they want to attack, diminish or get rid of, especially if they control both houses. That includes women’s rights, food for hungry children, and the impoverished, and the list of what Ryan and his Russian, atheist mentor Ayn Rand applauds, goes on and on.
Why would the American people be ready to trust Romney or Ryan? Both men have been caught in countless lies, not by reporters who write but by video of both talking with forked tongues that show and tell. Who in their right mind would be stupid enough to give either one of them an opportunity to hurt so many of us and hurt the country? Mitt “Willard” Romney could be a felon for abusing IRS rules regarding tax haven account reporting, taking advantage of the amnesty program to avoid prosecution, which as a condition of amnesty required going back and amending tax returns after truthfully reporting. And that is what his hidden tax returns could clearly show. He could be arrested for tax evasion if he was not audited during those unrevealed years, but would be if disclosed. Who knows? Perhaps that is the reason why he is not releasing his tax returns. Even Ann Romney, during a TV interview, angrily said they are not going to release any more taxes, admitting that they simply did not want to give their critics any more “ammunition.”
Why does this money hungry couple believe they can continue to hide their tax returns and feel they can move into the White House as if they are entitled? The American people are just going to have to trust them? Despite the many lies, including the lies in the tax returns Romneys filed claiming they were residents in Massachusetts to qualify Mitt for election for governor, that was proven false when they were releases and showed they claimed primary residency in their Utah mansion so they could take advantage of property tax reductions by doing so. Even their false claim that Romney released two years of taxes is just one more lie from Ann, Willard and his campaign. The fact is that Willard Romney released only ONE year, incomplete because it failed to attach schedules crucial to determining all assets in overseas havens, and the second ‘return’ was only an incomplete ‘estimate; which was due August 15, and is now past due even after asking for an extension from April 15, and no tax return in sight.
By the way the horse that the Romney’s claimed as a “business” deduction, and as a therapy horse for Ann’s MS is another fat lie perpetrated by both of them. That so-called MS, dancing horse was also claimed as causing a $77,000 business loss in one of the income tax forms, so what’s the truth? MS therapy horse or another one of Willard’s attempts to defraud the government by not paying taxes?
The Romneys claim they paid at least 13% of income taxes (on $21,000,000 income in 2010) and quickly added that they also contributed another 10% to the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) trying to mislead by faking a “23%” ‘like-tax’ rate. They also contributed to the George W. Bush presidential library. For comparison, the Obamas, on less than $800,000 in 2010 income, paid approximately 20% actual income taxes AND contributed another 20% (twice the Romney rate) to, guess where, Veteran’s groups and programs. That difference says it all. The Romneys pay 25 cents of every incoming dollar to the government and charities, while the Obamas pay over 40 cents of every dollar to the same type recipients. And the Obamas have so much less money for themselves afterwards. How greedy the Romneys are!
Can anyone believe anything that Romney, his wife or his campaign misrepresents to the American People? I guess the choosing of Paul Ryan fits right in with the Romney mode… just lie! Lie! Lie! And lie some more! Stonewall! As long as Republican win, who cares how they do it? Ryan, the purported fiscal conservative, helped pay on credit for two wars while pushing harsh anti-abortion bills, like one terminating an exemption from the ban on using federal money for abortions in cases of rape or incest, while changing the definition of rape to “forcible rape” as if ‘non-forcible rape’ is alright for women.
Romney calculated that Ryan would help deliver the Catholic vote to limit the disdain among Catholics about Mormonism. Even after Ryan claimed his budget was based on his Catholic faith, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops concluded Ryan’s budget was “immoral” and wrote to Congress: “A just spending bill cannot rely on disproportionate cuts in essential services to poor and vulnerable persons.”
The Catholic Jesuits also wrote, to Ryan himself that “Your budget appears to reflect the values of your favorite philosopher, Ayn Rand, rather than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” Of course Ryan lied most recently when he said he did not know Rand was an atheist -- that is the foundation for her survival of the fittest individuals philosophy.
Father Stephen Umhoefer, Ryan’s former parish priest in Janesville, contributed this analysis of Rand/Ryan plan: “You can’t tell somebody that in 10 years your economic situation is going to be just wonderful because meanwhile your kids may starve to death.” Even the nuns-on-the-bus criticized the former altar boy who has only now begun to take his three kids to Mass.
The Romney/Ryan plan is a destructive, serious and dangerous proposal. Seniors should look at the Republican record, and they will find that for the last 50 years Republicans have been trying to get rid of Medicare, and Democrats have fought to preserve it. The first step in President Bush’s arsenal of destruction was to get rid of Medicare, but was shut down before he and his Republican cohorts could even get started to accomplish their goal. They saw the revolt and felt the anger directed at them by seniors, so, they quickly put the annihilation of Medicare aside. Now they are back at it again, this time with a new young gun blazing “voucher bullets”, and once those bullets hit their “target” the middle class and the seniors will become the victims of the destructive and demoralizing Ryan plan, poised to hurt not only seniors and the middle class, but to all of those that follow.
Ryan plan is immoral for America, and people should fight for their rights, and should consider voting the obstructionist members of the do nothing congresses out of office … tell them: you’re fired!
