    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Rubican says his boys had a great day at school, despite their expressions in this photo. Derek, 4, 'was actually excited to start but (and on Mom's insistence) I made them stop for pics.' He said his older son, Zach, was starting 7th grade and was still getting into back to school mode. 'We just got back yesterday from a camping trip so this may have been Zach’s realization that summer is over.' We can relate!

    Derek was actually looking forward to his first day of kindergarten...but stopping for a picture wasn't in his plans.
