Protest continues in Nanjing against Google's unfair treating

Monday,August 20th,staff in Motorola Mobility Nanjing branch gathered together to show protest against google's decision on closing site. The picture shows the slogan ,"Protest against discrimination of Google's workforce cut in Nanjing. Defend our home, Nanjing facility." There are over 400 employees joining this activity, wearing the black T-shirt which is in memory of Google's successful acquisition on Motorola Mobility.

The staff is questioning why Chinese employees suffer most in the strategy adjustment of Google. Per latest news, there are 700 employees are cut off in Beijing and 500 in Nanjing(site close). Overall there are over 1000 layoffs in China which is over 25% of 4000 alleged number from Google."They can spent 30 Million to movement from Libertyville to Chicago downtown. Why do they close Nanjing site which gains profit every year?" ,Anonymous colleague from Nanjing site says,"This is definitely discrimination to Chinese employees".

It is reported in local newspaper ,Daily Nanjing, the HR and management team in China has arrived in Nanjing and started negotiation with the deputy committee of engineers. Monday a Job Fair is surprisingly held in Nanjing facility with no pre-notification to employees about layoff in email or vocally. "There is no announcement of layoff. We are still working. What are these firms doing here. This is ridiculous. Is it against policy?", a colleague says. It is believed this show is held by local HR of Nanjing site.

Nanjing site of Motorola Mobility has total 500 employees working on R&D. Site close means all of them will loose their jobs at the same time, which is devastating to 500 families living in the city which can't offer suited positions due to recession.
