    Clashes are back

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ichalhoub told me, "I went with two groups of [Sunni] fighters. Those of the first were preparing themselves for a new round while drinking coffee. They were fully armed and discussing a plan for the hit. Streets were empty especially in Bab El Tebbaneh. As you can see, there were no people entering there with the exception of boy on his motorbike. The marks of the army tanks were all over the ground." Clashes in the Lebanese city of Tripoli between its Alawite and Sunni communities have left several dead and sparked concerns that the Syrian conflict and sectarianism is spreading to neighboring countries.

Tripoli – Lebanon. With the advent of Eid, clashes erupted between Bab El Tebbaneh (Sunni anti-Syrian regime) and Jabal Mohsen (Alawite pro-Syrian regime) due to a dispute between children from both sides. Children were playing on the borderline region when they exchanged insults. They started throwing fireworks on each other until it progressed to gunshots on Monday August 20, 2012, marking the second day of Eid. Photos taken on August 21, 2012.
