Paul to Rally Day Before Republican National Convention

Texas  Congressman and still Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul  will hold a rally in Tampa, Florida Sunday, the day before the  Republican National Convention. Paul plans to rally his supporters, the  Liberty Movement, in a speech at the University of South Forida Sun  Dome.

Paul  has never suspended his campaign and continues his Don Quixote quest to  win the GOP nomination to face President Barack Obama on November 6.  Paul claims he will have 200 delegates at the convention, but according  to the New York Times, those numbers are actually 160.

Paul  and his movement failed to win a plurality as required by GOP rules in 5  states. If reports are correct, Paul only has 3 states and those are in  jeopardy of being seated.

Paul  is reported to have sought at least a speaking time at the convention,  but so far is not on the agenda. His supporters are still hoping to  influence the party platform.

Paul's  son, the junior Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, is slated to speak to the  convention. The younger Paul has endorsed presumptive Republican nominee  Mitt Romney.

From the Cornfield, while Paul's supporters are loyal, vocal and ardent, it is time to realize it's over...at least for 2012.
