Dragon*Con-drenaline
By day, I'm a Web Producer at a local TV news station. My days are filled with deciphering police reports, sending out breaking news alerts and posting pictures, videos and stories. But by night - I'm a cosplayer. I own a rainbow of wigs, more costume pieces than normal clothing and on a moment's notice, can assume an alternate identity - no phone booth required! (though I may need a few safety pins)
This will be my third year at Dragon*Con, and one of the many costumes I'm bringing will be the X-Men character Storm, who is one of the hallmarks in the realm of powerful female comic book characters. I've always loved Storm, because she is in complete control of herself and her surroundings - I mean, she can literally make it rain - and I strive to incorporate even just a little of her grace and strength into my every day life.
Storm took me weeks to put together - from accessories and styling the wig to sewing the cape and making sense of that headpiece. Dragon*Con is widely regarded as one of the top costume conventions in the country, and I can't wait to hit the floor wearing one of my favorite characters!
