    Scene after Empire State Building Shooting

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Leaving for a dentist appointment on 40th Street and Madison, lmramirez33 says she saw the news about the shooting unfold on her iPhone and decided to walk over to the area since it was on her way back to work. "There were several onlookers as well as police officials. Much of the area was taped off and no one could cross," she says. "Some people were genuinely concerned trying to figure out if they knew anyone who had gotten hurt. Overall, everyone was just shaking their heads in disgust at the senseless tragedy."

    I had a dentist appointment nearby and walked on to the aftermath of the shooting before heading back to work.
