'Premium Rush' To Ride LIke Hell

Don't laugh folks...but this little film is the best original film of the year so far. Just when we thought Hollywood had lost all of its creative soul, along comes this 'Diamond in the Rough'...

Dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies, open doors, and eight million hellish citizens is all in a day’s work for Wilee (As in Wilee E Coyote - Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York's agile and hard riding bicycle couriers. He is in for the thrill ride of his young life here...Can he save the day?

The movie, set in and shot in 'The Big Apple', is a breakneck chase film with a twist - have you ever seen a bike messenger thriller? The shooting style is new too: The film camera's actually have a GPS and IPhone feel too the action, zipping thru the streets of NYC thru the eyes of a bike rider.

Michael Shannon is great as the dirty-cop villian, and Dania Ramirez is hot as Wilee's love interest. The story is told in a cool flashback style, and at a one hour/ thirty minutes running time, the lenth is perfect.

Stay after the credits for a cool out-take shot of when Joseph Gordon-Levitt was injured - it took 31 stitches to fix his cut arm when he crashed into the back of a taxi while filming...

It's a fun ride all the way, but be aware there are a few violent scenes...but hey, this is an adult thriller!
