It's  Monday, which means it's time to take at trip across the US of A and  check out how much pain there is at the pump. By far across the nation  pain at the pump is still intense as prices rose by as much as 31 cents  in at least 1 location.

In  our weekly National Snapshot, we look at a select city in all 50 states  as well as the District of Columbia. The current trend continues to  show the pain is increasing. With Tropical Storm Isaac expected to  become a hurricane and hit the Gulf Coast expect to see gas prices rise.  Some refineries are already shutting down in preparation for the storm  which is expected to hit on Wednesday.

Here in the Cornfield, gas costs ranged from $3.62 up 15 cents in the state capitol of Indianapolis to $3.58 down 8 cents in Terre Haute and $3.59 down 7 cents in the Cornfield.

What I found is that in 10 locations the price of gas was down compared to last week when it was 13. Those seeing an increase were 33  locations compared to 33 last Monday. That means in 8 locations the pump  reading was unchanged compared to 5 last week.

The current national average gas cost is $3.734 up 3.3 cents. Oil per barrel is $95.01 up 57 cents per barrel.
