    Is New Orleans Prepared? Really?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     luvnola stayed in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina and plans to stay put this time. 'I just felt like if I made it through that, I could make it through any storm.'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

Anxiety levels are high today as New Orleans residents brace for Hurricane Isaac on the seven year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. People are boarding up their businesses and homes while others are trying to evacuate the city. Long lines abound at gas stations which still have gas to sell.

At the forefront of people's minds is the damage sustained during the catastrophic flooding after the levee failures following Hurricane Katrina... seven years ago to the day. Talk about PTSD... Uh?

The Corp of Engineers says the levees are stronger and better than they were prior to Hurricane Katrina however how can one trust anything the Corp of Engineers says? Inherent engineering flaws and governmental incompetence is what lead to the levee failures in the first place. What choice do I have? NOLA is home and there is no place like it in the world.

    peace,
    luvnola
