    Remembering Neil Armstrong

    Who killed the moon?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Underdog10 says, 'I have had the concept for the poem in mind for several years and reflected on it every time my husband and I were driving at night under a bright moon. It's not meant to be flippant, but more of a light-hearted look at how the lunar landing changed the way we look at the night sky. In light of the current exploration of Mars, I think the Apollo missions have such a profound significance, having debunked many of the old myths and wives tales about what was "out there." =) I doubt anyone really expected the Mars Rover to catch a glimpse of 'little green men' any more than we expected the lunar missions to reveal a moon made of cheese, but it does hearken back to a more innocent era, as well as pointing forward to the many unknowns that still spark our interest in further exploration.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

I was preparing to enter first grade when Mr. Armstrong made his historic leap. Last year, with the greatest respect and admiration for this true American pioneer, I penned the following tongue-in-cheek tribute to this brave man, who forever changed our limited perspective of the galaxies.
