    Roller Coaster Summer

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Sheogre said the ride in the first two photos is The Corkscrew, which she said holds a record as the first coaster with three inversions. 'The fact that it was so close to the midway was extremely intriguing as well. It is the first coaster to feature an actual corkscrew over a midway. I loved that even though the coaster has some age on it (it opened in 1976) it still has a very smooth ride and can give you the thrill that all coaster fanatics love, not to mention the beautiful photographic views you can get from this coaster!'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

I have enjoyed roller coasters since I was 12 years old. I was thrilled when my oldest son picked up on my roller coaster obsession, and his younger siblings have been chomping at the bit to join him in the roller coaster club,
For years, my oldest son, James, and I have talked about making a pilgrimage to Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio. This year, he graduated from high school, so as a graduation present, my husband and I took him.
We stayed on the property, and took advantage of the hour early entry, and started hitting the best coasters in the park. It was easy to go back and forth from the park to our room, and the efficiency of the staff kept the lines moving as best as possible. As a bonus, the way the park designed some of the sitting areas, allowing you to take in the sights and sounds of the rides, was inspiring! It was wonderful to sit down with a roller coaster speeding right next to you, almost so close you could touch it!
