I still love Southern Soul Music and glad to have been a part of starting it, didn't know at the time - but i miss some of the originals, like Johnny Taylor i remember the last time we were with him and on stage he said i aint as young as the Mailman
-i was like did you hear him say my name, also -Tyrone Davis, my last time with him was in Mississippi i think Indianola , he said Ty wanna tell you something young Mailman you are good -just remember to always dress your best on stage give class to your show, i said thank you sir. - and Marvin Sease, i last saw with my mentor and friend Charles Evers, brother to the late Medgar Wanda Evers we were on the RV waiting to perform when Marvin and MR. Evers called me to their RV Marvin said take my home number i want us to do a song together, i was floored of course we never got to do the song, but i am looking to sample his vocals and make us a song together from the grave soon.

And my mother would always say -cause someone try to copy you they are not you and cannot do what you do.

Lastly - some people brag that are the king of Southern Soul music or R&B, for me i don't like Labels because they put you in a box, and how can you be the king of R&B when Chris Brown Neo
Usher on and on top your sales daily, and their fan counts make yours look like a tiny number, this baffles me when i see some of the Southern soul charts and it's this dudes best friend at the top of the chart, and like - Al Green number twenty five you gotta be kidding, we need some kind of system for charting, like sales or popularity something to give those charts credibility - Cause if you have not drank a beer with the reporter or from their hometown you can hang it up - and also airplay the same three artist over and over for the last few years - not a problem if you are one of the three, but it seems it's gotta be lick it or stick all the time.
i get board easy, and writing the same thing over and over is boring to me, thus - I was inspired to do some gospel songs that felt real good and the people are downloading Some of the gospel more than some of the Soul stuff, Yes i believe in GOD -Yes i go to church yes i have two ministers license, and a college degree -and yes i go to clubs so what- YEA I SAID IT
I don't drink cause my limit is one beer-after that i get to feeling woosy -so its basically listening to loud music Letting off steam, and i love that. Anyway i did some rock -did spoken word - acting, i am living my life to the fullest when i can and continue to council young folks when they ask for it.
i call them my neices and nephews. i call myself the O.G but some people are starting to say it should be double O.G now (Lol).

But I know my place as the Soul Man and i love it -cant wait to sing MR. Mailman with my band, and I Lied, Same Place Same Time - Do me baby -K.I.S.S.I.N.G and Love Talk, and my other songs that you guys have told me and have shown me that you love, until then keep dry Gulf Coast and Surrounding dont let Issac get you down.
