Hurricane Isaac hits Biloxi, MS

About 1,400 homes in South Mississippi have lost electrical power. A Coast Electric Power Association official said crews were working to restore power in Hancock, Harrison and Pearl River Counties. The largest number of outages reported were 496 in Hancock County.
The region's emergency management directors are urging residents to stay inside overnight.
Several dozen roads have been closed due to flooding in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties. A 7 p.m. curfew is in effect in Hancock and Harrison counties. A curfew goes into effect at 9 p.m. in Hancock County and at 10 p.m. in Jackson County.
Officials in Harrison County have reported more than 600 people are spending the night in public shelters.
