    Beautiful Glen Lake, Michigan

    I was lucky enough to spend my weekend on this Caribbean-like lake...in northern Michigan. Sitting on the porch of my girlfriend's aunt's cottage, we enjoyed swimming, boating, tubing, and relaxing on the crystal-clear waters of Glen Lake, Michigan located only a few miles from Lake Michigan.

    Between Glen Lake and Lake Michigan lies the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Shoreline...a piece of federal land that has amazing views from atop natural sand dunes rising hundreds of feet over Lake Michigan.

    The town of Glen Arbor itself is a small town with some quaint establishments. Two must visits for any tourists include The Pine Cone (best ice cream) and Cherry Republic...a retail store with everything from salsa to trail mix using local Michigan cherries.

    It was a trip I won't soon forget, with views that are unlike anything else I've seen anywhere north of Florida.
