This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments
My name is Leo and live in northern California.
In 2003 I weighed 352 pounds. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was told that I needed to make a lifestyle change. It was a harsh reality check, but thanks to it, I'm now 178 pounds lighter. I'm off medications, living and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
I began living healthy by incorporating daily walks and following a Low Carb diet. Within two months I noticed the pounds shed off. The more I lost, the more motivated I became. It took me two and half years to lose all of the weight, but was worth the journey. I've maintained my weight loss till this day and continue to push myself and my body to improve every day! It wasn't easy, but it is doable. I've shared my knowledge and information with anyone who's asked for my advice. I've helped others to have success in losing weight. It's a battle every day, but one can't give up. One does not put on the pounds overnight nor can expect them to come off overnight. It has to become a LIFESTYLE and not a temporary attempt. If I did it, anyone can do it! Good luck to all!
