Rep. Diaz-Balart (FL-21) on this fall's Latino vote

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Your Political Ticket iReport contest winner dcgopgirl interviewed Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, who represents Florida's 21st Congressional District (which includes portions of Miami-Dade county), about how Mitt Romney can secure the Latino vote. He talked about securing jobs being the best way to capture the Latino vote. As for undecided voters, he wanted to let them know that 'Mitt Romney can get our country working again,' he said. With the Romney/Ryan choice, 'This can be and will be the most powerful, the wealthiest, the country of true and limitless possibility,' Diaz-Balart said.

I had the chance to catch up with Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart who represent's Florida's 21st Congressional District (which includes portions of Miami-Dade county) in hall before the final night of the Convention began.

Currently serving his 5th term in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Congressman sits on one of the House's most prestigious committees -- the House Committee on Appropriations.

Born to Cuban refugee parents (and a family of significant Cuban politicians), the Congressman has unique insight on what the GOP needs to do in order to win the coveted Latino vote this fall. And that's just what I asked him about.
*If you don't know about Rep. Diaz-Balart's family history, it's absolutely fascinating, so be sure to look it up!

He also answered my favorite question of the week: what's your number one message for an undecided voter.

I don't know about you, but I think the Congressman is spot on with his responses. Check them out!
