Rep. Diaz-Balart (FL-21) on this fall's Latino vote
- zdan, CNN iReport producer
I had the chance to catch up with Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart who represent's Florida's 21st Congressional District (which includes portions of Miami-Dade county) in hall before the final night of the Convention began.
Currently serving his 5th term in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Congressman sits on one of the House's most prestigious committees -- the House Committee on Appropriations.
Born to Cuban refugee parents (and a family of significant Cuban politicians), the Congressman has unique insight on what the GOP needs to do in order to win the coveted Latino vote this fall. And that's just what I asked him about.
*If you don't know about Rep. Diaz-Balart's family history, it's absolutely fascinating, so be sure to look it up!
He also answered my favorite question of the week: what's your number one message for an undecided voter.
I don't know about you, but I think the Congressman is spot on with his responses. Check them out!
