    Blue Moon Rising - Tulsa, OK

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     HOLadd1 photographed the blue moon on August 31 over Tulsa, Oklahoma. 'I knew we were in a blue moon period when I saw it first appear on the horizon. Thanks to the remnants of Isaac that blew thru Tulsa the previous day, the sky was clearer and calmer than normal,' he said. 'It's still hard for me to believe we haven't been back to the moon since the last manned mission in 1972. There should at least be a hotel or casino on it by now.'

    I took these shots of the moon as it rose earlier this evening on a clear night over south Tulsa. The gold structure is the 60-story City Plex Tower -- I was approximately 3 miles from the Tower and some 238,900 miles from the moon...give or take a few.
