    The Forgotten Games

I am surprised and saddened at the lack of publicity that the Paralympics receives. I have a family friend who, as of this morning, has competed in three Paralympics. She is an incredible athlete and she deserves the same recognition as Kobe Bryant, Michael Phelps, and Abby Wambach. We may see the same Morgan Freeman-voiced commercials, but we fail to give these amazing individuals the respect they have earned. Constantly in the shadow of the Olympic Games, the Paralympics does not bring in as much money from advertising and the like and so does not get the same spotlight. This is yet another point of proof that Wu Tang Clan said it best in their hit single, "C.R.E.A.M." which stands for, "Cash rules everything around me".
