El bureau internacional de Capitales Culturales con sede en Barcelona a seleccionado a Barranquilla, Colombia como la Capital Americana de la Cultura 2013, año en el que tambien la ciudad conmemora el bicentenario de haber sido elevada a categoría ´villa´. En este ireport expreso mi alegría (Lo mejor de la gente de Barranquilla) y orgullo porque es la ciudad que me vió nacer y en la que actualmente resido. Los invito a todos a que vengan a disfrutar de la ciudad donde nacieron Shakira y Sofía Vergara, preferiblemente a prinicipios de año; cuando se realiza el Carnaval de Barranquilla, declarado como Patrimonio Cultural e Intangible de la Humanidad por la Unesco.

The International Bureau of Cultural Capitals based in Barcelona selected to Barranquilla, Colombia as the American Capital of Culture 2013, the city which also marks the bicentenary of being elevated to the category 'villa'. In this iReport express my joy (The best of the people of Barranquilla) and pride it is the city where I was born and where I currently reside. I invite you all to come and enjoy the city where they were born Shakira and Sofia Vergara, preferably prinicipios of year when performing the Carnival of Barranquilla, declared a Cultural Heritage and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
