Pilot killed in plane crash at Quad City Air Show

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     scandbq was taking photographs of the Quad City Air Show in Davenport, Iowa, on September 1, when he saw a fireball rise into the air off in the distance. 'I didn't really know what I was looking at. It wasn't until people began talking about how fast it flew into the ground when I realized what had just happened,' he said. The fireball was the result of one of the planes crashed off in the distance, killing the pilot inside. 'The announcer's voice immediately went from an excited tone to a serious, but calm one. He advised everyone to remain in their seats and said they have trained personnel on hand for this type of incident,' he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

The pilot of an L-39 Albatros was killed during a "cross break" maneuver at the Quad City Air Show in Davenport, IA. The pilot, a member of the Hoppers flight demonstration team, failed to pull out of a 45 degree dive and crashed into a nearby farm field.
