What do the Paralympics mean to you? |
The Buzz of an Olympic Park Day Pass
- Anika3, CNN iReport producer
The London 2012 Paralympics is almost a sellout success with many visitors unable to get event tickets now so many visitors are grabbing a Paralympic Olympic Park Day Pass at just £10. These tickets give access to the Park for a full day and include entry to see any sport in the Park, other than Athletics, Cycling or Swimming, if places are available. Craig and Lisa are Hackney residents and not wanting to miss the 'buzz' of the Olympic Park, which is right on their doorstep, spent a day enjoying the the parks architecture, people watching and soaking up the Paralympic Games spirit courtesy of some Olympic Park day passes.
As well as getting a chance to view all the sport venues, there are street entertainers, gift shopping and food outlets a plenty throughout the park to enjoy for day pass visitors.
Craig and Lisa took a walk alongside the riverside area to view the Queens barge 'Gloriana' which only weeks earlier had carried the Olympic torch along the River Thames. Also alongside the river is an open space called 'Park Live'. This a lawned area between the Riverbank Arena and Copper Box and has giant screens that seem to float on the river and gave our visitors chance to relax for a while and watch some live sports events within the Olympic Park.
As night falls the Olympic Park becomes a sea of colour providing a final opportunity to capture that perfect memorable photograph that sums up the atmosphere of the London 2012 Paralympics.
