Was Four Years Really Enough Time For Obama?
Hello my name is Byron Thomas and like millions of other Americans, I’m still an undecided voter. I’m a republican but I vote for the best man. It’s not about what I should get or what you should get, but it’s about what America should get. We have to put America first to make sure this country gets stronger for our future. Now where I’m really stuck at is whether or not in today’s economy is four years really enough time to tell, if a President is getting the job done or not? Was four years really enough time for Obama to really turn this country around? That is where I’m stuck at as a voter. I think about the past a lot and it took Franklin D. Roosevelt three terms (plus a little bit into his fourth term before he died) to get this country back to work. FDR did get the country back on track but (in my opinion) I strongly feel that WWII was the main reason America got back on track faster (again my opinion) (also apparently FDR’s first New Deal failed or didn’t turn out the way people thought it would turn out). Men went to the battle field and women went into the factories. It seems like everyone back then had a job. Then during and after the war America was exporting way more than importing. When Bill Clinton got into office he left with a surplus (but there are some records that apparently show that the economy started heading downward in 1997). I feel the technology boom that happened in the 1990s help America a lot because American’s were spending a lot (but I feel like a lot of those things were being paid for with CREDIT CARDS!!!). Seriously think about it adults, how many credit cards did you have back in the 1990s??? Anyway Bill Clinton left with a surplus and President Bush came into office. President Bush did what he could do and I’m not here to bash him or anything but we have to be real about it, Obama was handed a not so good economy. This is the thing though; Obama knew what he was getting into. It would be like a person not knowing their partners debts before they walk down that wedding aisle. You better know about you partners debts, or you’re in trouble. Obama knew about this debt, so what he has to do is MAN-UP and be real with America. I don’t want him blaming republicans or democrats for everything (even though congress keeps lying to us that they are trying to work together). He needs to really tell us what failed and what worked. What he tried to do and what he couldn’t do. He needs to be honest with Americans and tell us why we are in a greater debt then when he took office. Apparently he said if he couldn’t turn this economy around, then he deserves to be a one term President. Obama has to Man-Up and take ownership of this current economy or he needs to go! America we have to be wise about this come November. Again, is four years really enough? Don’t forget that Congress has to pass the bills and that seems like it takes forever now a days. America my generation is stuck with a debt, that we had no big part in. So think about us, this November. One thing I do know is my generation will definitely help fix the problem this time around, because if we don’t then it all falls on us. America must have a brighter and stronger future. Remember that come November. Kill People with Kindness and May God Bless America
