    CarolinaFest at DNC 2012

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     TedBoyd23 shot these photos of the CarolinaFest held in uptown Charlotte on Monday, September 3. "I think this festival was a great start to show the fun and excitement that comes as the DNC 2012 kicks off," he says. "The mood of the day was positive, festive and electric."
    - Anika3, CNN iReport producer

Labor Day of DNC 2012 began with the CarolinaFest, a street festival filled with food vendors, political novelties, sponsor tents and the Legacy Village. Today began greater vehicular and pedestrian restrictions so I used the city buses to make my way to the city.

Images captured are of me walking over the Tryon Street Overstreet Bridge with an image of Bank of America Stadium where President Obama will give his acceptance speech.

Other pictures were from the Legacy Village where they were working on a Habitat house and showcased sustainable practices...one image capturing a converted shipping container from Boxman Studios.

Thousands of people came out for this festival with great bands that included the Blue Dogs, Chairman of the Board, Jeff Bridges and James Taylor although rain put a damper on things.

Google has an incredible set up and one image is of the interior or this great space...also a converted shipping container from Boxman.

Apart from a couple later afternoon showers it was a great start to DNC 2012.
