Their TV stations presented videos with gunmen, assuming that the Free Syrian Army is controlling the museum of Ma’arat Alnuman and using it as a military Barrack and putting Barricades, claiming that the rebels are inside the museum.

the free Syrian army is protecting the Syrian people as well as the Syrian cultural heritage, because it is a heritage for all Syrians and goes deep thousands of years in the human history.
The truth is that after freeing Ma’arat Alnuman the free Syrian army has clean the walls of the museum from the writings written by the Syrian army and their militia, who occupied the museum.
This video shows the liberation of the museum’s barricade (28.07.2012) and the state of the museum’s walls at the time when the Syrian army was inside the city.

The (shabiha)=(Assad regime gangsters ), used shots from a video show the revolution flag on the roof of the museum to give the impression that the rebels used the roof of the museum as a cover but the second film show exactly that the barricades are made from the shabiha and on the roof of the town hall where they were stationed.

The truth is that the museum was used as a barrack from al- shabiha, and return to its role as a cultural center under the control of the rebels. In the following video you see a colloquy between foreign journalists and leaders from the military council of the free Syrian army in Ma’arat, which took place in the museum. As they tell in this video that this happened under the cover of the revolution’s command council in Palmyra and the car was discovered by chance while it was on its way secretly to Homs, then to Aleppo and then to Turkey. It is very important to mention that those who are doing such reports are ignoring intentionally that most of the Syrian castles are used by the Syrian army as barracks, like Hama-castle, Krak del Chevaliers, Almadiq- Castle, and also the destruction of the Castle of Aleppo by the shelling.
