National Gas Prices - A Snapshot - September 3rd
It's Monday, which means it's time to take at trip across the US of A and check out how much pain there is at the pump. By far across the nation pain at the pump is still intense as prices rose by as much as 30 cents in the Cornfield.
In our weekly National Snapshot, we look at a select city in all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia. The current trend continues to show the pain is increasing. The former Hurricane Isaac is getting part of the blame for the increase in costs this Labor Day. Industry insiders are still saying that price will go down as the switch over from summer to winter grade fuel occurs.
Here in the Cornfield, gas costs ranged from $3.78 up 16 cents in the state capitol of Indianapolis to $3.89 up 31 cents in Terre Haute and $3.89 up 30 cents in the Cornfield.
What I found is that in 6 locations the price of gas was down compared to last week when it was 10. Those seeing an increase were 41 locations compared to 33 last Monday. That means in 4 locations the pump reading was unchanged compared to 8 last week.
The current national average gas cost is $3.798 up 6.4 cents. Oil per barrel is $96.38 up $1.37 per barrel.
To compare today's findings with last Monday's:
