Why do strong women wear make-up?

I am on a kick about strong women. I am trying to determine whether there is actually a "war on women" and whether we really do have a low regard for the female gender. I googled "women leaders in politics" or something like that. I looked at photos of the women leaders that ranked on Google. I wondered: Why do these strong women feel that it is necessary to wear make-up? What is the purpose? Isn't make-up something women use to attract men? Why are these leaders, movers and shakers wearing make-up?

Not all of them do. Some don't wear make-up. Some just wear lipstick. But why? I never wear lipstick. Why would women subject themselves to that?

If you wear make-up, can you enlighten me? If you are a guy, can you tell me why women wear it? Do you find women who don't unattractive?

Why would any woman in a position of leadership spend time applying make-up when there are so many more important things to deal with?

I'm curious. Thanks for your comments!

I can't identify all the women in the photos. Maybe some can assist me?

Pop challenge: Who can you identify in the photos who aren't wearing make-up?
