First Day of Kindergarten
As I picked him up from school, he insisted on walking hand in hand with his mom. I wanted to ask him how the day went. I decided against the idea in order to give him his space and let him bask in the moment, walking with his mother and beaming in front of his new friends. The smile clued me in that it was a good start.
I know he has a very long road ahead, and looking at his smile I am happy that it started the way it should.
As we drove back in the car, he asked me a question. "Daddy, how did the school know that I wanted this teacher for kindergarten?". My wife was quick to answer that the school did not know, and that he was assigned randomly. I didn't think he bought that explanation.
In the end, he was a happy kindergartner, and we were relieved parents. Good luck Andrew!
