    Election 2012: Your stories

I survived the end of the Bush Economic Disaster

I am a woman Industrial Artist, an Educator, and a Historic Commissioner who resides in Austin, Texas.
During the four years before President Obama took over, I saw the economy rise and fall. During President Bush's first term it seemed as if the economy was a little stable. After his second installment it was obvious
that what ever favors needed to be called in, were retroactive. The Market plunged, overseas contracting took jobs away, especially in cities such as Austin, Texas, who is known for being a silicone city. Outsourcing, and tax abatement favors broke home grown companies such as Dell, who paid employees well, and treated them the same. This town (Republican bullied, and former base of the Bushs) I consider to be a random sample of what happened all over the U.S.. Tech companies, as well as others could not compete with the favoritism s allotted the foreign competition. Local companies such as Dell, laid off permanent staff, and hired them back through temp agencies, offering them low wages with long hours to make an significant amount of money. They lost all benefits. Fathers and mothers see little of their children. Now there is the problem of latch key kids, and failing academic scores. People lost their homes, lost their credit, and live however they can.
My neighborhood boasts the highest mortality rate in Texas. I had a small business producing industrial art, such as statues, and monuments, as you could guess, this type of product was the last thing any company,or institution could budget for. I had to do many things to make it. It is a good thing that I am low on the pride level, and will take work what may not be the king's kettle, but sustained me and kept me out of the bankrupt court. Quite a few other people, just went in circles,,,,out of familiar work, and went almost out of their minds: :trained for many years to serve only one, or possibly two specific functions, and had no other skill.
After President Obama took office, immediately the effects of favoritism started to vanish. He has had a great mess to try to clean up. It will take more than two terms to straighten things out while a minority of super wealthy people need to continue to be disabled from ruining the financial pursuits of the less wealthy (millionaires) the middle class, and lower income Americans. What i am hearing from some people although, is not good. Many people seem to have a short memory, I don't. Since President Obama has been in office, people are spending again, and companies are buying. Things have been looking up for me, and soon I will be back to having my small business as my primary source of income!

It really scares me to hear some people I know actually think Mitt Romney is really going to do anything to improve a person's condition who is really beneath him!
We are all ants, and idiots to him, (As far as I can see)
Even the less wealthier than himself.
What really is more scarier is how some people are so disengaged, and blind to the obstacles, that have been put in President Obama's way. They would work as enemies to continue over the past four years to block every progressive agenda that can help Americans, just to try and make President Obama look bad, and to gain that office back. That is truly evil.
