My Favorite Buildings Around The World

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Always keeping a keen eye out for architecture and structures with historical significance, travel enthusiast HOLadd1 captured these photos of his favorite buildings over the past two years. "Most either represent key moments in history or have an incredible beauty," he says. "I can't say I have a a hands-down favorite. I'm still exploring."
    - Anika3, CNN iReport producer

Like the title says...some familiar, some maybe not so much, but each represents something unique whether it be history, location, architecture, etc.

    The pix in order:

    #1: Blue Mosque, Istanbul

    #2: Notre-Dame Basilica, Montreal

    #3: Big Ben, London

    #4: Colosseum at night, Rome

#5: Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai

#6: Everyone points to the Burj Dubai, but for my money my favorite building is the Rose Tower (72 storeys, the world's 27th tallest building)

#7: St. Basil's Cathedral, Red Square, Moscow

#8: Hofdi House, Reykavik, Iceland (site of the '86 Reagan - Gorbachev summit..and rumored to be haunted today)

    #9: CN Tower, Toronto

#10: Panmunjom Peace Village / Conference Building, DMZ between North and South Korea. The border runs down the length of the table...left of the guard is the Republic of Korea (i.e. South Korea), right the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (i.e. North Korea).
