Royal Caribbean-Jewel of Seas on way into Faroe Islands our ship struck and ripped down power lines across the channel.

We were on our deck in the early morning light hours and observed the ship at cruising speed proceed into what appeared to be power lines. It was a heart stopping surreal experience as live power lines were torn down..

Unfortunately one crew member was injured and apparently stuck on deck by the live line and was promptly evacuated.

Luckily the ship itself was not energized by the traumatic event. The captain came on speaker promptly and admitted to striking the power lines and injury to crew.. While this was an unplanned traumatic event we much appreciate our captains prompt and regular announcements . Will update as we learn more.
