Barack Obama Makes Argument for American Exceptionalism 2.0

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     dpkronmiller says he appreciated hearing President Obama talk about what "can be done by us" because '[it] was a positive message in stark contrast to the negativity of the campaign so far.' Over the years, he has supported both the Democratic and Republican parties at different points in his life. 'Obama's individualist streak appeals to me because it shows that he's able to not only think for himself rather than have his party think for him, but also because in my opinion real leadership at times requires compromise -- something the Republicans of late have not been interested in precisely because they tend to think party before policy,' he said.
