Reginald L. Singletary, 27, and Ziyad T. Abid, 23, were charged with armed criminal action and first degree murder yesterday. The two are believed to be responsible for the death of William "Blaine" Whitworth, a local bar owner in Warrensburg. Police state that Singletary admitted to accepting money from Abid to shoot and kill Whitworth. There are no known motives at this time for the murder. Bond was set at $1 million for Singletary. Abid was denied bond, as he was deemed a flight risk. Abid is a student at the University of Central Missouri, where he was studying aviation. Abid had to also turn over his passport, travel documents, and his pilot's license. Abid will tried in Johnson County.
