This iReport is part of an assignment:
Who taught you to love food? |
Van Gogh is Bipolar is Eccentric
Van Gogh is Bipolar is owned by a Jetro, an artist, an avid traveller, and a person clinically diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Initially for his personal diet, he studied food to serve meals that are mood-altering and that trigger body hormones. The menu includes turkey, salmon, lamb, and Black Mountain Rice, among others.
After the meal, you can explore his home-turned-restaurant. You can make your own tea, with flavors for each mood. They have a red graffiti wall, a UV-lighted darkroom where you can write your dirtiest secrets, and crazy hats for that wacky photo shoot.
The place can accommodate only 12 people at one time. Almost everything is self-service. Payment is done on an honesty system, where you just place money in a metal case.
This was the first time that I tried a four-course meal. The place taught me the importance of food, not just as body nourishment, but also as one that affects emotion.
