Jacksonville, FL Bangladeshi Celebrate - International Mother Language Day “Aumor Ekushey”
International Mother Language Day is a fitting reminder of the debt we owe to our martyrs who made supreme sacrifices for our political, economic and cultural emancipation and uplift.
Feb 21 is observed around the world as International Mother Language Day in memory of the students in Bangladesh who gave their lives on the day in 1952 for the right to keep their mother tongue, Bangla, as a state language.
Bangladesh and we are proud Bangladeshi American…………………
Bangladesh is the only country in the Earth that was born in world map based on Glorious Language movement of 1952 culminating in the bloody birth of our nation in 1971.
Bangladesh is the 3rd largest populated Muslim country in the world
Language of “Bangla” is the 6th widely spoken Language in the world
Bangla is one of the future official Language of the United Nation.
Bangali poet Kobi Guru Robindro Nath Tagor is the only poet in the world who is written 2 nations (Bangladesh & Indi) National Anthem, who is also a winner of Novel Prize.
Bangladesh is also home to the great ecological diversity. Is forest, “The Sundarbans” number one natural beauty of the Universe and has been nominated to be one of the new 7 Wonders of Beauty for 2011. Bangladesh also known to be one of the longest sea beach in the world “Coxes Bazar” which was nominated to be one of the 7 Wonders of Beauty for 2009. We have so much more to be proud of Bangladeshi………………
'পটভূমি তার শহীদ মিনার' ~ স্মৃতির মিনার তলিয়ে যায় বিস্মৃতির অতলে
১৯৫২ সালের একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারিতে ঢাকার রাজপথ রঞ্জিত হলো শহীদের রক্তে। ভাষার দাবিতে ওই দিন যারা শহীদ হলেন, তাদের স্মৃতি রক্ষার্থেই গড়ে তোলা হল শহীদ মিনার। শাসক গোষ্ঠী ওই মিনার ভাঙ্গতেও দেরি করেনি। আর তাই কবি লিখেন, 'স্মৃতির মিনারা ভেঙেছে তোমার? ইটের মিনার ভেঙেছে ভাঙুক।' আর দেশজুড়ে গড়ে উঠতে একের পর এক শহীদ মিনার। ভাষা আন্দোলনের মূর্ত এই প্রতীকটি হয়ে উঠল যাবতীয় আন্দোলন-সংগ্রামের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু। সেই থেকে সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক দুর্বিপাকে আমরা জড়ো হয়েছি শহীদ মিনারের পাদদেশে। শহীদ মিনারকে সামনে রেখে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়েছি, গড়েছি গণতান্ত্রিক আন্দোলনের মোর্চা, সংস্কৃতি চর্চার জোট। এখান থেকেই আমরা বলছি দেশের কথা, দশের কথা। তাই বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয়ের যে পটভূমি তার ইতিহাস রচনা করব
