    Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) holds Festival

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     meelah101 says while visiting Corfu, Greece, he ran into a festival organized by the Communist youth in that area on September 8. He says the party has a large following in Corfu from what he could tell. He says the festival was aimed those interested in the Communist party and wanted to express their views and exchange ideas.

    The Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) had its 38th Festival at the town center of Corfu last night. This is an annual event which the KNE holds as a celrbration of all communists in Greece.

     

    Maya, a universty student and one of the event organizers said, " This is an occasion for us to gather and talk about ideas, our experiences as well as our disagreements on various subjects that concern citizens in Greece. " Of course, it is also an occasion for us to eat, drink, and listen to music, " she added.

     

    I happened to pass by this area last night and I thought this story would interest other CNN readers. The organizers told me the slogan for this year's festival is "Give your hand to anybody who tries to stand up, You must take the power"

     

    Well, I did not ask them to elaborate further.

     

    Two of the monthly newspapers of the KNE aare the PIZOENAETHE and ODIGITIS.
