    my mini garden update, 9/9/2012

Disappointment and a grade of D is my conclusion on my attempt at both inground and patio gardening this year. I ended up with one zucchini as seen in a previous post and about 6 cherry tomatoes, no carrots as they were smothered in crab grass and weeds. It was hard to keep up with the weeds as we were lucky to have some rain and tons of heavy humidity each day which made everything, including weeds grow. Then there were mosquitoes ready to launch their war games if you dare brave the heat and humidity, so I didn't go out often. Throw in allergies of severe proportion and this year's gardening was a bust!

First picture is of the tomato and zucchini plant. The zucchini is now producing only flowers and no fruit. The second is of the few brave carrot tops trying to find sunlight, the third picture is of all the weeds pulled out and around the carrots.
