    Melbourne's (Street) Masterpieces

I spent last Christmas in the very cool city of Melbourne, Australia. It is a cultured, gritty city and one that is made up of layer upon layer of ethnicity and history. In the heart of the city is one of the world's best display's of 'graffiti', and not in a 'tagging/destructive' way. One of my favourite experiences was wandering the back streets of a deserted business district on Christmas Day. It was as though the city had been closed to all other humans. I spent many hours admiring, interpreting and ultimately photographing this magnificent street art, all the while seeing less than a dozen people. I felt as though I had snuck into a closed museum as I had all of these art pieces, all to my self, in the dead quiet, on Christmas Day....Grant
