Daykundi people and their love for getting education (part 1)

8 years ago on 28 March 2004, Mr. President Hamid Karzai with a delegation landed in Daykundi and gifted Daykundi as province to the people. People of Daykundi welcomed this step of Mr. President and sung different poems to share their feelings and thanked him. That time Daykundi province had only 15 schools , 3 of them were high schools and 12 other were primary and middle schools
Today after 8 years , Daykundi has 352 schools , 156 high schools 196 and schools are middle and primary. Meanwhile 83 schools are having their buildings , while other 79 schools are under construction. 190 Schools which are not having building , are arranged in Gardens , Mosques , private houses and so on.
Daykundi's 352 schools have more then 163 thousands students , 44 % of them are Girls which shows 2.5% increase . And around 10 thousand students are in Illiteracy courses , and they age between 30 to 65.
Kankor Participants :
8 years ago when Daykundi had only 3 high Schools , they had only 30 Kankor participants , and they were going to Kabul & Bamiyan for attending their Exams ,
In 2010 Daykundi had 1050 Kankor Participants , again they were going to Bamiyan & Kabul for attending their Exams and more then a month they were stay there and spent large amount of money for transportation as well. Beside large amount of their expenditures , on the ways they were having many other issues as security , transportation. And fortunately they appeared scoring highest marks in all over Afghanistan , 98% did pass the exams.
Keeping in mind students problems for giving exams in other provinces , the leadership of Daykundi Province and many other people helped to convince Ministry of Higher Education to arrange Kankor Exams in Daykundi.
Days before 19 December 2011 , Daykundi students from different Districts gathered in Nili for attending their Kankor Exams in their own province. 1700 student registered to participate in Kankor Exams which was to be held for the first time in the history of Daykundi in province and + 30% of participants were girls.
On 19 December 2011 , At last Daykundi students got their rights , Kankor Exams were arranged in Daykundi. In it’s opening ceremony every individual student of Daykundi welcomed and thanked Ministry of Higher Education and their local authorities for taking such steps for students.
Kankor Exams in Daykundi finished transparent , peaceful and pure. 1674 students participated Exams , 339 of them were girls.
“Until now +5 thousand students have registered to participate in 2012 Kankor exams in Daykundi.”
