    Pole Creek Fire

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     WesternImage captured this photo of the Pole Creek Fire just outside Sisters, Oregon, on Monday, September 9. "We were impressed by how fast it grew. We experienced ash coming down, high winds, and lots and lots of smoke," she says. "Neighborhoods were being evacuated and streets and highways were closed. Tons of firefighters from around the state are in the area fighting the blaze. Most people think fire season is over and it it's not. This fire is still going and affecting many in the area."

    The Pole Creek Fire... we spent most of the day and evening with it....we experienced ashes coming down, high winds, and lots and LOTS of smoke. What a crazy day. Neighborhoods have already bee
    n evacuated and there are tons of fire fighters from around the state in the area fighting the blaze. Our thoughts are with each of them tonight as they battle this fire. Hope it doesn't come closer to Sisters or Bend. Photograph taken near Sisters, Oregon
