Children on Chicago teacher’s rally
Thousands of people in Chicago participated in teachers’ rally, Monday, September 10th 2012. It was also followed by children (and, of course, their parents). Their participation gave its own color for this movement which is much filled by political messages. As some pictures above can say more, the children blended with their parents and everybody else who participated in the rally: they wore red clothes, they shouted, sang, and took hold the poster. Some children even gave a stronger message when they showed their stand on the teachers. One of them said, “Treat my dad with respect”.
Despite their presence might be more because of the interests of the parents who cannot leave their alone, but the presence of these children reinforce the message that the teacher-student-parent cannot be separated in education. At the end of the day, these children who are the subjects, either benefited or even sacrificed in the strike.
