    Teachers: Why do you teach?

    Striking

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Middle school teacher chiteachmath participated in the strike in downtown Chicago on September 10, and feels that teachers are undervalued in society. Always having been inspired by his students, he says he continues to teach because he loves to see his students becoming successful, and going to high school and college. "We were at the protest to make sure that the current path of education changes," he says. "In the end, everyone was educated by a teacher or someone educated. The teachers that we have in our schools are some of the best; however, they are not respected as depicted in our budgets both at the state and nationally."
    - Anika3, CNN iReport producer

Not for pay but for equitable education to low and middle income students. A new, young teacher who fights along our veteran teachers in the name of social justice.
