GEROMA, I have Included the "Smoking Gun" Report Which Embarrasses "Duke Lacrosse Accuser" Crystal
Dear Legal Buff: Here goes the "Smoking Gun" report on the Crystal Mangum case.. who attended North Carolina Central and is originally from Durham, NC: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/duke-lacrosse/crystal-mangum-stabs-boyfriend-675092 What in the world is wrong with Jean LaCroix, Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Sandusky, Chad Ochocinco, Duke Lacrosse Players (Read Seligman) & Chris Brown ??? I just read this article about Jean LaCroix , who was actually the director of the Department of Children and Families in Florida (formerly headed by STU dean Bob Butterworth ): http://miami.cbslocal.com/2012/07/13/dcf-worker-accused-of-having-sex-with-foster-child-expected-in-bond-court/ Here you have a man that actually worked for the DCF and he was placed in a role where he was supposed to be protecting foster kids. The article says that his superiors actually advised him to cease and desist any contact with the foster kid for whom he was a case worker. This man (LaCroix) actually had the mensrea or "intent" to commit this kind of crime even though the crime of statutory rape is a strict liability crime which does not require mensrea in addition to the "actus reus." Statutory rape is not a specific intent or general intent crime because it does not require "intent" at all. Therefore, it would not be an excuse for LaCroix to say that he did not know that the alleged victim was underage and it also would not suffice for LaCroix to say that she consented to having sex, because intent and consent are not at issue as far as the crime of statutory rape is concerned. he was effectively placed on notice to stay away from this foster kid and he had constructive notice anyway in that he "knew or should have known" that what he was doing was wrong. Please read this about hall of Fame Linebacker Lawrence Taylor (who attended college at Chapel Hill, NC):
