Do You Believe in Redistribution of the Wealth?
As I was speaking with an acquaintance yesterday, I realized that she, a well educated woman, a successful business owner, a mom, a wife believes in the idea that there should be a cap on how much money you should be able to earn and keep. That conversation got me to thinking, who else harbors these beliefs?
I was dumbfounded when she expressed her views. In my mind, the greatest thing about our country is that there is no limit to what we can achieve as an individual. I think our individual accomplishments help to make America greater, but maybe I am one of the last of a dying breed.
So my question to you is, should there be a cap on how much money a person is allowed to earn and keep?
Should there be a requirement for the rich to give what they have to a level that evens the playing field?
Will redistribution of the wealth really help pull the poor out of poverty or will it just make the rich a little poorer?
