    Remembering 9/11

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     kyavuz is the elementary dean at the Syracuse Academy of Science charter school in Syracuse, New York, and shot this video of students forming a human flag in tribute to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. 'We had discussions about 9/11 in the classrooms, some of students had silent march in the hallways, and also had artwork created by students ... As elementary school students and teachers, we decided to dress up with the color of our flag and formed our flag all together on our front yard of the school and said the Pledge of Allegiance that was followed by a respectful rendition of taps, and a moment of silence.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

On September 11, 2012, in order to remember 9/11, Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School formed a symbol of unity and pride for our country - the American flag. Each grade level was assigned a color to help make the flag. Once in formation, the entire school community said the Pledge of Allegiance. This was followed by a respectful rendition of taps, performed by our music education teacher Ms. Plunkett.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of all the 9/11 victims.
