    Demonstrations in Greece

Today, I witnessed two demonstrations by two different concerned groups in Greece but with the same demands. The first group was speaking for the people with special needs.

"This is a protest against the government that is cutting funds needed for the care of people with special needs: those with cancers and those suffering from multiple sclerosis, chronic renal failure, among others," Ms. Helen Panagiotoki, said.

Ms. Panagiotoki, a registered nurse,  herself is suffering from multiple sclerosis.

Anna Maria Taliouri also said they are demanding that the government provide enough funds to purchase medicines for cancer patients.

These protests are in response to the government's plans to cut the funds for these services in compliance with the requirements of Greek lenders (Troika).
