Demonstrations in Greece
Today I witnesssed two demonstrations by two different concerned groups in Greece but with similar demands. The first group gathered at the Syntagma square to speak on behalf of people with special needs.
This is a protest against the government that is reducing the funds needed for the care of people with special needs such as those with cancers, those suffering from multiple scleriosis, chronic renal failure, among others, Ms. Helen Panagiotoki said.
Ms. Panagiotoki, a registered nurse, is suffering from multiple scleriosis herself.
This sentiment was shared by Ms. Anna Maria Taliori who said that the government should provide and not cut or reduce the medicines for cancer patients.
These protests are in response to the government's plans to cut and reduce fudns for these special services in response to the requirements of the country's lenders.
