Egyptians angry at film insulting Prophet Mohammed
- zdan, CNN iReport producer
Egyptian protesters angry at the news of broadcasting a new movie depicting Prophet Mohammed as a child molester, womanizer and ruthless killer, demonstrated and scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy on Tuesday. Protesters tore down the American flag and burned it and replaced it with a black flag with the words "There is no God but God, and Mohammad is his messenger".
The protest is reacting to a film that insulting Prophet Mohammad being produced in the United States by American and Egyptian Copts. Most of the Muslim world considers depictions of Prophet Mohammed to be deeply offensive in any fashion, much less in an insulting way.
On the other side, some protesters objected to the flag burning and many activists advocated ignoring the film and similar offensive media instead of marketing them.
